Priscilla by Prometheus Design ft. Jimmy of Jimboyrulez
This video is from 2013. In this video we build Priscilla. Although its not a complete build video it was a trailer we made for a motorcycle which was a tribute to the AirForce. The rivets on this motorcycle are real and not sprayed on. Its one of the first motorcycles to have the shark teeth from the airplane painted on the gas tank and after the pictures of this motorcycle went viral a lot of people around the world tried to replicate this design but may be one or two replicated the actual rivets ... rest all of them spray painted the rivets. The client wanted two seats and not a lot of alterations to the chassis or the overall design of the motorcycle. The client requested a bigger gas tank and said iron's tank would be fine. The client wanted a drag handlebar and the ability to add the second seat. When we had those limitations we couldnt cut the chassis as we were strictly instructed not to do so. With the limitations we had we had to depend solely on the rivet design and paint job to make an impression. Moreover the client wanted all harley davidson parts and didnt not want to venture out to any after market companies. We still managed to convince the customer to use progressive suspensions to lower the rear by half an inch.

This was the first motorcycle I ever built. I would like to take a moment and thank Winston Yeh and Steven C Willis for helping me with this build. This Motorcycle is what helped me start my own business. This was the motorcycle that helped me start Prometheus Design co. I have no gap between the tiles and the wall. I have cut the tiles and they are a perfect fit. The only thing I can think of is if you reversed fast and with some wheel spin the tiles came off. Because I have a lot of movement in the garage and I haven't have them come undone yet. And now I have had these tiles for a few years.

      @MrSkeptical , flawlessly…. I am very happy with them. But if I had to pick one thing that I don’t like about them, then that is when I drop something small, it’s lost forever. If I am working on something and drop a tiny screw… I don’t even attempt to find it anymore because it’s like a black hole and small things dropped are lost forever. lol… but if you don’t work with tiny stuff in your garage, then they are perfect in every other way.

    I am about to install these NewAge Cabinets in my garage, as well, but I have a cement footing, similar to what yo have in your garage. How did you install around this cement footing? I don't think the Legs would be long enough lift it high enough, to clear the footing.

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez 6 місяців тому

      I had the same problem. Mine are actually wall mounted. So I found those studs. The legs I have are only for show. Some aren’t even touching the floor. My cabinets are fully loaded with heavy stuff. And mounting them on the studs would be fine. If I had to do it all over again I wouldn’t even bother with the legs. I put the legs so it would maintain symmetry with the smaller cabinets with wheels at the bottom. I added sofa pads to the bottom of the legs so it looks like they are touching the floor. You can add furniture leveling feat or furniture pads (easily available on Amazon) to achieve the same look.

My experience with Swisstrax mirrored his ....very responsive (unlike Racedeck) with no-pressure, helpful answers to my questions. I was also able to take advantage of a periodic sale and shipping via FedEx was also complimentary. I had some execess tiles and was able to return those for a refund less my return shipping charges. Hardest part....deciding on style and color scheme but their on-line configurator helps you visualize your designs before ordering.

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez Рік тому

      Different anchors are rated at different weight. Some even take more. But this is strictly weight that is against gravity (downward only) any other direction and it won’t hold. What I mean to say is weight on a vertical wall pressing downward is fine. But if the wall is at an angle 📐 or if you are pulling on those anchors or if you fit them on the ceiling it won’t be the same.

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez 2 роки тому

      I live in california so I do not have first hand experience. But you can brush it off and then use a shop vac. I have a milwaukee shop vac which I absolutely love. The rare instance when it rains in california and when I bring some light mud or dirt in, all I do it use my shop vac and everything under the flooring gets sucked out. I think even with heavy sludge, mud that is dried can be cleaned the same way. The frequency, in snow climate, of one needing to use shop vac would be higher. But I was told the tiles that are diamond trax are better for snow then ribtrax. As you can just sweep diamond trax and mud and snow doesnt really go through them. But again , no personal experience. Just sharing knowledge the sales person shared with me.

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez 2 роки тому

      i dont think it has to be the same shade, it would be a little dark... but i think its a personal preference thing so if you like it, go ahead. every gray has either a warm hue or a cool hue. i would find a similar hue in gray but lighter shade. The tiles arent a neutral gray. i painted the wall lighter (neutral) gray and then when the tiles arrived i realized the tiles were not neutral. But as far as you find the same shade but make it lighter it should be fine. Or you can do what automotive workshops do. have the bottom half of the wall gray and top half of the wall white. and then in the center there is usually an orange or red stripe separating the top and bottom half. if you search harley workshops and just in general pictures of workshops on pinterest you will see what I am talking about. In that case going as dark as the tiles might work.

    Great video, thanks for doing it. One question, I have 3.75" baseboard, any thoughts without cutting baseboard to wall mount the lockers ? Whats best way to level when the feet provided arent high enough ? Though about 4x4 piece but that wont be consistent.

      I had a similar problem. You can walk mount the cabinets to the studs. You don’t need legs. If correctly wall mounted on studs , they will take all the weight . I put the legs and then used magic sliders for the sofa. I stacked them up on top of each other and stuck them under the legs. Now by screwing or unscrewing the legs I can increase or decrease the height of the legs. I have a lot of videos on the cabinets and in a couple of them I have explained what I am saying.

    @Craig Taylor , I have the same problem. Always with me since 2011, bought new, 18,700 km now and all the electronics in the trunk with water signs. The roof don’t work. The official dealer wants to charge 470 eur for the ecu module and 2,800 eur for the hydro unit. I think I'll just use it as a coupe. Disgusted with this matter and afraid that it will rain or wash it and water will enter it again, they do not know where it enters, they are geniuses. Wonderfull, a car that can’t get wet 🙄😤😤😤

    Hello, we were looking at the epoxy route but learned about these. We are just going to use our garage for daily storage and convert half into a gym. Would you suggest these for normal use?

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez 3 роки тому

      for normal home use they are great. For gym use i think there should be rubberized version. The plastic tiles are very strong and i am sure they would be fine even if your drop weights on them. The only thing to keep in mind is that you wont be able to walk bare foot comfortably or if you plan to do yoga then sitting on the plastic tiles is uncomfortable. But for home use, for most part they are awesome.

      @@Jimboyrulez thanks. We plan on placing those thick gym mats over if we go with using plastic tiles. Lol I don't think that's overkill ?

      Ok, that makes sense. In that case these should be perfect. I absolutely love mine. We spend a lot of time in the garage. We use our garage for storage and some light work and also for parking. And the tiles still look like brand new.

    How did you deal with the foundation block?I see the cabinets are resting on top

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez 3 роки тому

      The cabinets are mounted to the wall. the back of the cabinets are resting on the foundation but they are actually floating. what i mean by this is i have mounted the cabinets on the studs in the wall. the front legs are for show. and there are no rear legs as its resting on the foundation. if you go through my videos, this is a common question i have gotten and i have explained in a few of my videos.

    What did you use under the feet of your Bold cabinets? Also, how do you like the way the floor color worked with your cabinets?

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez 3 роки тому

      my cabinets are mounted on the wall... feet are just for show but the weight is not on the feet. I got these plastic disks which are meant for sofa legs adn stacked them up. typically they arent suppose to be stacked but i did it because i knew there isnt going to be much weight on them. If i had to do the floor again i would do black and red. it would look cleaner.

    Looks great. What are you using for the backsplash? NewAge PVC Slatwall?

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez 3 роки тому

      i just used the new age slatwall for one station. for the other 2 i dont have slatwalls. Newage slatwall is really good in quality but expensive. As for material its metal. and not pvc.

    why didn't you do a floor job??? isn't it the very best time to redo the floor before all of this permanent install ...?

    • @Jimboyrulez
      @Jimboyrulez 3 роки тому

      you are absolutyely right. I should have started with paint and then floor and then I should have done the cabinets. Poor planning on my part. But I did the floor later. There is a video on that too.

    Racedeck = The Original, 29 patents, USA made, 20 styles, and beats anybody's price

      Sure, but when I tried contacting them their service sucked for me. For me, their patents arent useful to me but quality of service is. Instead of replying to my mail or calling me they sent me a free sample. I didnt even ask for a sample. I had questions. Racedeck never bothered. Where as swisstrax went above and beyond for me. Racedeck lost a sale.
